Motorola takes aim at Apple Stores in Germany, monitor says
Motorola has begun legal action against Apple stores in Germany, after winning a courtroom battle over online sales last week, a patent expert monitoring the rivals’ conflict said 06 February 2012. The 03 February ruling forced Apple to withdraw its iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 models and UMTS models of its iPad tablet computer from sale through its German online shop, but sales resumed within hours after a stay of execution from a more senior judge. Florian Mueller, who blogs about the battle, said he had just found out through US court documents that Motorola had filed suit in April to cut off sales in Apple’s regular shops too. The state court in Dusseldorf says that no date had been set to hear the cases. So far there has been no report of action to stop sales of the devices through independent retailers.
